501st Legion · Kentucky
Bad Guys Doing Good. The Bluegrass Garrison is Kentucky’s unit of the 501st Legion, the world’s premier Star Wars costuming organization. We bring the magic of a galaxy far, far away to charity events, conventions, and communities across the Commonwealth — all through the dedication of volunteer members in screen-accurate costumes.
Bluegrass Garrison is the Kentucky subunit of the 501st, the world’s largest Star Wars costume club founded in 1997 and with over 14,000 active members in more than 60 countries. The Legion celebrates the villains, troopers, and morally ambiguous characters of the Star Wars universe — from the Empire and the First Order to bounty hunters, Sith, and the galaxy’s shadiest figures.
In 2018, members of the Midsouth Garrison who resided in Kentucky voted to form their own garrison. The Bluegrass Garrison was officially established on May 4th, 2018 — Star Wars Day.
Today the Bluegrass Garrison is thriving with a growing roster of active members across two squads serving communities throughout the Commonwealth. Our members volunteer at charity events, conventions, parades, and community gatherings across the state.
