Kentucky's premier Star Wars costuming group, bringing the magic of a galaxy far, far away to charity events, conventions, and communities across the Commonwealth.
Since its founding by Albin Johnson in 1997, the 501st Legion — also known as ‘Vader’s Fist’ — has grown to over 14,000 active members across more than 60 countries. The Legion spreads the magic of Star Wars through authentic costumes and has pioneered fan-organized charity events worldwide.
The Legion’s Mission is to promote interest in Star Wars through the construction and wearing of high-quality costumes, and to use these costumes to contribute to charitable causes at the local level through volunteerism in costume.
The 501st Legion is organized by geography into garrisons — one for each state or region. Garrisons are further divided into squads at the local level. The Bluegrass Garrison is Kentucky’s garrison, with squads serving communities across the Commonwealth.
Supporting local and national charities through Star Wars themed fundraising events and appearances.
Partnering with Kentucky communities to raise funds for causes that matter to our neighbors.
Marching in formation through Kentucky’s streets, bringing the Empire’s finest to local celebrations.
Representing the 501st Legion at comic cons, fan expos, and pop culture conventions across the region.
Movie premieres, May the 4th celebrations, and Star Wars events throughout the year.
